BHK not to back their party member R. Aivazian in presidential election

Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) was not even aware that BHK member Ruben Aivazian had nominated himself as a presidential candidate, the secretary of BHK parliamentary faction Ms. Naira Zohrabian told the correspondent of Aysor.am.

She stressed that the party does not know the reasons for Aizazian’s self-nomination. She recalled the statement of BHK, according to which BHK will neither field its own candidate nor support any other candidate in the presidential election.
When asked if BHK will back the candidacy of R. Aivazian, Naira Zohrabian gave a sharp answer: “No! Our party has not nominated any candidate and naturally it will not support any candidate”.

Let us remind you that BHK member Ruben Aivazian on December 31 submitted his documents to the Central Election Commission (CEC) in order to run in the presidential election on 18 February of this year. He is a self-nominated candidate.
It should also be mentioned that R. Aivazian was invited to the CEC sitting today because he has not submitted a receipt about payment of an 8 million-dram electoral pledge.
