BHK candidate drops out of race
“After consulting with my friends from BHK, I- as a law-abiding citizen – have decided not to violate the regulations of our party and to obey the decision of its political council,” member of Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) Ruben Aivzian said during a talk with Aysor.am, when commenting on his decision to drop out of the presidential race today.
Let us remind you that on December 12 BHK‘s political council made a decision neither to put up a candidate in the February 18 presidential election nor to support any other candidate.
In response to the remark that BHK made the decision on December 12, whereas he nominated his candidacy on December 31, the former presidential candidate said that he simply exercised his Constitutional right and decided to nominate himself for Presidency.
By the way, BHK member Ruben Aivazian was reluctant to mention concrete names; he only said that he had met with his “friends” from BHK. He assured us that no one has put pressure on him.
