Child beaten in boarding school?

According to “Zhamanak daily”, 9-year-old Tigran, who escaped from Yerevan boarding school No 1 on December 28 of last year, will remain under care of the Fund for Armenian Relief for a few months.

The daily was informed by spokeswoman to the Human Right Defender Ms. Naira Karmirshalian that an investigation is underway to find out if the child was really beaten. “This is what Tigran himself told us,” she said.

This isn’t the first time that Tigran has escaped from the boarding school. “Zhamanak” writes that in the child’s words, he is beaten there. Tigran’s mother is in prison, the child’s guardian is his grandfather.
