Minister of education: We must set higher standard

The first consultation this year was held at the Ministry of Education and Science today. It was conducted by Minister Armen Ashotian, the press service of the Ministry reports. The heads of the Ministry’s units participated in the consultation.

Noting that the ministry has a lot of work to do this year, Ashotian spoke about the achievements and results of last year. In his words, both the Armenian leadership’s and the public’s expectations from the ministry and their demands to it are increasingly growing.

The minister instructed the staff to develop a program of measures of the working year, based on the program for the 2013 working year which was approved by the government last week.

“We must set a higher standard of our work. The public expects us to achieve more raid and tangible results. Moreover, the public is prepared to participate in these processes,” the minister said, attaching importance to an open and transparent work style.

Speaking about the upcoming presidential election, Minister Ashotian stressed that by the law, the employees of the system may not engage in political activity while performing their work duties. There will be strict control to rule out such manifestations and other phenomena, which may cast a shade on the organization of fair and transparent elections in Armenia.
