Safarian: Our chance of power change is Raffi Hovannisian

“In May the President’s team called on the people to believe that there would be changes, but today the people do not see any real changes,” the member of Heritage Party, a former deputy of the parliament Styopa Safarian said at the meeting with journalists today.

“Serzh Sargsyan is trying to show through a number of publications and surveys that he has the same rating as in 2008. Of course, this is not the case. The supportive BHK (Prosperous Armenia Party) and Kocharian transferring power to him are no longer by his side, quite the opposite, there are poor management experience and the March 1 events,” Safarian noted.
According to him, the people are extremely discontented today, and if the authorities manage to take voters to the polls, they will achieve real results.

“We are currently holding meetings with regional activists. During those meetings, Raffi Hovannisian was able to break people’s despair and lack of confidence in 20-30 minutes. Today our only chance of power change is Raffi Hovannisian,” Styopa Safarian stated.

He spoke about the incumbent president’s slogan “Toward Secure Armenia”. Safarian described that slogan as “extremely bad”, saying that it would be more appropriate for an opposition candidate: “They repeat once again that we live in an insecure Armenia,” Safarian said.
