V. Abajian’s public memorial service to be held in Surb Hovhannes Church

A public memorial service to honor late actor Vladimir Abajian will be held today at 6:00 pm in Surb Hovhannes Church in Kond, Yerevan, the Ministry of Culture reported.

The funeral will take place on January 17, at 2:00 pm at the Yerevan Pantheon.

Vladimir Abajian was born on November 27, 1927, in the village of Shirak, Shirak province. In 1951 he graduated from the Yerevan Institute of Fine Art and Theatre and in the same year he started his acting career at the Sundukian Academic Theatre.
People’s Artist of Armenia Vladimir Abajian was one of the greatest actors of the national art of recitation. In 1998 he was awarded a Movses Khorenatsi Medal.
