ADA Chairman: Dental service prices to rise 50%

As a result of the recent amendments to the Law on License Payments, a dental clinic will be taxed three times for treatment of a patient’s tooth, Chief Dentist of Armenia Dr. Lazar Yesayan and Chairman of the Armenian Dental Association (ADA) Ashot Gevorgian announced at a press conference today.

Dr. Yesayan said that after the amendments to the law, a dentist’s chair will cost 80,000 AMD.

“We have been put in the same category as hairdresser’s parlors, restaurants, and casinos. People will suffer because of this law as the prices of dental services will rise by 50%,” Ashot Gevorgian said. He added that many dental centers will be closed and many will have to reduce their staff.
