Andrias Ghukasian: Everything is in God’s hands

The presidential candidate Andrias Ghukasian is starting an indefinite hunger strike today. He brought a chair, water, placards reading “Stop False Elections” in Armenian and English, and a notebook, in which he will write his analysis about the situation in Armenia.

The political scientist A. Ghukasian did not bring a tent to the building of the National Academy of Sciences, in front of which he will go on a hunger strike. He explained that the soldiers of our country defend the homeland in such conditions. “I will end my hunger strike when conditions for free elections are created in the country, when the ruling party does not run in the elections, or when the international observation mission stops its mission and leaves the country,” he said.

When asked, what if nothing changes and the election takes place on February 18, he replied that it is too early to speak about that as nothing happens without a cause and everything is in God’s hands.

In his words, they set up a political team which decided that he should go on a hunger strike alone.
