Police: Data on 1019 dead citizens removed from voter register

The results of police work to ensure the validity of information included in the State Register of Population were summarized by the Armenian Police yesterday, the press service of the police reports.

As a result of the work done, as of January 22, 2013, 1377 citizens were registered at addresses of new dwelling units they had received as compensation.

Thanks to explanatory work done among close relatives of deceased people, data on 1019 deceased persons was removed from the register of Armenian voters. The State Register of Population had not been informed about their deaths in the order and within the time limit prescribed by the law.

To ensure the accuracy of data on citizens, the addresses of dwelling units where 10 and more citizens are registered, have been selected from the archive of the State Register of Population.
