15,331 members appointed to 1,988 precinct commissions
The Central Election Commission of Armenia will hold an extraordinary sitting today.
According to the press service of CEC, that parties and the alliance of parties, which have their factions in the National Assembly, were required to submit to the CEC their bids for appointment of members to precinct election commissions by 24 January 2013, 6 pm. The parties and the alliance of parties, which have their factions in the NA, submitted their bids to the CEC within the set time limit.
Heritage Party did not appoint its members to 65 precinct election commissions, ARF-Dashnaktsutyun Party to 51 precinct commissions, and Armenian National Congress Alliance of Parties – to 457 precinct commissions.
Orinats Yerkir Party, Prosperous Armenia Party, and Republican Party of Armenia appointed members to all precinct election commissions.
15,904 citizens were supposed to be appointed as commission members in 1,988 precinct commissions, but 15,331 citizens were appointed. The vacant places will be filled by chairmen of the district election commissions in the order prescribed by the Electoral Code.
