EuFoA: BHK votes go to Serzh Sargsyan and Raffi Hovannisian

The absolute majority of votes given to Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) and Heritage Party in last year’s parliamentary elections have now gone to the candidates these parties have nominated for the presidency: Serzh Sargsyan and Raffi Hovannisian respectively. Representatives of European Friends of Armenia (EuFoA) NGO stated this at the meeting with reporters today. They spoke about the results of a survey carried out ahead of the presidential election in Armenia.

The survey showed that more than half of the votes given to Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) in the parliamentary elections have gone to Serzh Sargsyan, and some percentage of such votes have gone to Raffi Hovannisian.

The survey revealed that most of R. Hovannisian’s electorate lives in Yerevan, the majority of S. Sargsyan’s electorate lives in villages.

The survey was conducted by TNS opinion organization jointly with a local partner - the Institute for Political and Sociological Consulting (IPSC), at the request of EuFoA.

According to the survey, more than a third of those, who voted for opposition candidates, have assessed the incumbent president’s activities as “good” or “very good”.
