Secure Armenia is impossible without reforms of state bodies
Present-day Armenia is very different from what it used to be five years ago. The presidential candidate of Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) Serzh Sargsyan made this statement during a campaign meeting with voters in the city of Aleverdi, Lori province. The local residents welcomed S. Sargsyan with placards reading “Alaverdi residents believe in secure Armenia!”
“I am convinced that all of you have seen the reforms concerning the freedom of speech. Even during the last two meetings we had dialogs with local residents. Some of them tried to reproach me, saying that freedom of speech was allowed to such a degree that it can even hinder us, but, in my opinion, we should not only keep the achievements in this respect, but also deepen them,” Serzh Sargsyan said.
In his speech, he also told Alaverdi residents that the country will not be able to make progress unless the public trusts state bodies, courts and the legal system. “Their transparent and efficient work will be among our priorities. I am sure that activities of these systems will be considerably improved since I cannot even imagine a secure Armenia without reforms of these bodies”.
Speaking about Armenia’s tourism policy, the candidate noted that this provision is clearly stipulated in his election program and its implementation will have a direct impact on this region, including the city of Alaverdi.
“By developing tourism, we will make our country more visible, perceptible and popular with tourists who visit Armenia,” Serzh Sargsyan stated.
“The next five years will also be the years of helping our compatriots scattered around the world to return home and building a green Armenia,” S. Sargsyan said in conclusion.
