Application for HAK party registration filed to Justice Ministry

28 members of Armenian National Congress (HAK) alliance filed yesterday an application for the establishment of Armenian National Congress Party to the RA Ministry of Justice. HAK coordinator Levon Zurabian made this announcement at a meeting with reporters today.

“The new party does not presuppose the end of the alliance and we want to stay as we are today. We want to keep the alliance,” Zurabian said. In his words, a party under the name of HAK has not been registered and they are the first to file an application for its registration and receive the respective certificate.

“This is an initiative of private persons and we invite the political forces making part of the Congress to join us,” Zurabian stated. According to him, they are making an attempt to achieve closer consolidation of unaffiliated people and political forces.

Social liberalism, whose purpose is, as Levon Ter-Petrosian put it, “to break up the criminal-oligarchic system by means of mass democratic movement”, forms the basis of HAK Party’s ideology, Zurabian noted.

As regards the party leader, Zurabian said he will try his best so that L. Ter-Petrosian will lead the party.
He announced that the first congress of the party will be held in the Government Session Hall on March 22.
