Serzh Sargsyan meets with Nork Marash community voters

The presidential candidate Serzh Sargsyan met today with voters of Nork Marash community in Yerevan. In his speech, he reminded those present that the 25th anniversary of the Artsakh movement is currently being celebrated. “If at that time the Azerbaijani authorities and society had known what would happen 25 years later, they would not have unleashed Armenian massacres in Baku, Sumgait and Kirovabad,” S. Sargsyan said.

In his words, in 1988 the movement aimed to exercise the right to self-determination, which met with sadistic resistance of Azerbaijan.
The presidential candidate said that if Azerbaijani society knows what will happen in 25 years, they will adopt a more constructive approach.
“25 years ago we said that the Karabakh problem had no military solution and a new war would not solve the problem,” Sargsyan reminded.
In conclusion, he stated that by saying secure Armenia, we also mean secure Artsakh.

Then he answered the questions of those present.

One question was about the other presidential candidates’ campaign pledges to raise pensions by 50% if elected.

Responding to the question, Serzh Sargsyan said that if it were easy to raise pensions and increase educational and military expenditures by 50%, they would do it.

According to him, a wish is not a bad thing, God grant that wishes may be fulfilled.

Commenting on the other candidates’ statements to the effect that after coming to power, they will do the same as the authorities do, but even better, Serzh Sargsyan said such promises do not inspire confidence.
