CEC to announce today final results of presidential election

Today the Central Election Commission of Armenia will sum up the election results and take a decision about the outcome of the presidential election.

According to preliminary results, the winner is incumbent President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan who received 861,378 votes. Raffi Hovannisian received 539,674 votes, Hrant Bagratian – 31,643 votes, Paruyr Hayrikian – 18,093 votes, Andrias Ghukasian – 8,328 votes, Arman Melikian – 3,520 votes, and Vardan Sedrakian – 6,203 votes.

47 applications were received with requests to recount the votes and recognize the election results null and void.

The recount of votes was done only in three polling stations, as a result of which slight changes were made in the number of the votes collected by the presidential candidates.

The election campaign in Armenia was conducted from January 21 to February 16, 24:00 hours local time.
