Sharmazanov: Don’t be surprised at resignations
“Don’t be surprised at the resignations. It is a lively process, resignations are possible, I may also resign one day,” spokesman for Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), Vice Speaker of the National Assembly Edward Sharmazanov said during a talk with reporters in the parliament, when speaking about the recent series of resignations.
“As a conservative, I believe that everything should proceed in an evolutionary manner and undergo changes so we cannot rule out the resignation of any person,” he stressed.
He refuted the opinion that those mayors and governors have resigned who failed to secure the victory of HHK presidential candidate in their city or region.
Sharmazanov declined to comment on rumors about the possible replacement of the prime minister. “Neither the Supreme Body nor the Council of HHK have discussed any cadre changes,” he said, advising those present to wait until the government resigns following the presidential inauguration.
As regards the replacement of NA speaker and vice speakers, Sharmazanov noted that there is not such an issue on the agenda.
