Hovik Abrahamian: Change of prime minister was not discussed

“We have repeatedly said that there will be changes in all spheres, including the government, but it does not mean that the matter concerns the replacement of current prime minister,” the parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamian told reporters today.

Commenting on this theme, Abrahamian said the issue of the government was not discussed at the meeting with the president. “We did not discuss this issue. We spoke about the National Assembly,” Abrahamian said. According to him, it is too early to think about replacing the prime minister as elections to the Yerevan Council of Elders will be held soon.

The National Assembly speaker noted that the situation will clarify after the Armenian president’s inauguration. “I am convinced that Serzh Sargsyan will take the right decision,” H. Abrahamian said. He did not rule out that the prime minister will serve another term.
