SCR gives female employees presents on occasion of March 8
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Director General of South Caucasus Railway CJSC Victor Rebets handed today presents and diplomas to the company’s female employees for their achievements.
He said that women make up a fourth of the company’s staff that has more than 4,000 members.
“Despite their relatively small number, our women are notable for their responsible and active attitude and some of them hold executive positions. Of the 582 female employees of SCR, 24 are top officials at various levels. Besides, today will go down in the railway’s history as the day when a woman was appointed a stationmaster for the first time,” Rebets said.
He announced that by his order, Anush Hakobian was appointed stationmaster of Tumanian railway station, which was recently thoroughly repaired and reopened. Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan attended the opening ceremony.
The SCR Director General handed letters of thanks, prizes and presents to 34 female employees. In addition, presents were given to six women who previously worked in the railway for over 50 years.
