Number of Heritage votes to become clear at election of Council of Elders

An idea existed prior to the election that it was impossible to defeat the authorities, with calls for disobedience being made. Raffi Hovannisian ran in the election, and part of society followed him. He assumed great responsibility, the head of Cooperation for Democracy Center Stepan Danielian said at a press conference today, at the same time expressing doubt if R. Hovannisian can handle such responsibility.

According to Danielian, R. Hovannisian is trying to mobilize his efforts as he lacks resources for a struggle.

Another participant of the press conference, deputy of HHK parliamentary faction Vardan Aivazian said that the authorities consider it a most serious problem that so many voters gave their votes to another candidate.

In his words, Raffi Hovannisian also understands clearly that not all the votes he received are his. “The real number of Heritage Party’s votes will become evident during elections to the Yerevan Council of Elders,” HHK deputy said in conclusion.
