Galust Sahakian: Serzh Sargsyan may visit Raffi Hovannisian

The authorities are satisfied with the election results since all the presidential candidates had equal opportunities to compete and a stable opposition field has formed as a result, Deputy Chairman of Republican Party of Armenia (HHK), head of HHK parliamentary faction Galust Sahakian said at the meeting with reporters today.

As regards the hunger strike that the ex-presidential candidate Raffi Hovannisian has started in Liberty Square, G. Sahakian noted that each political figure is at liberty to choose his/her form of struggle, but he does not consider hunger strike an acceptable option.

G. Sahakian criticized Raffi Hovannisian’s remark that the president’s inauguration will take place “only over my dead body”. “It was probably a slip of the tongue, if not, it is not serious,” G. Sahakian said, adding that it is illogical to lead people in this way.

When asked about the further steps, Galust Sahakian said Serzh Sargsyan who is a “yielding man” may visit Raffi Hovannisian if society needs that.
