Scuffle in Constitutional Court: “Mr. Mukuchian, you are a criminal”

“You a criminal, Mr. Mukuchian, and don’t justify yourself!”

Civil activist Karen Harutyunian cried these words, interrupting the Central Election Commission Chairman Tigran Mukuchian’s briefing in the lobby of the RA Constitutional Court.

“Dear reporters, present this man as a criminal. Election rigging is a crime,” Karen Harutyunian shouted.

Those present tried to calm him down, but K. Harutyunian continued shouting, insisting that it was his viewpoint and he was not going to keep silent. A scuffle broke out.

“I only said he is a criminal. I was told to lower my voice. Why should I lower my voice? I repeat: Tigran Mukuchian is a criminal,” Karen Harutyunian told the reporters.

A break was then announced in the sitting of the Constitutional Court. Everyone, including T. Mukuchian and K. Harutyunian, left the Court grounds.
