Raffi Hovannisian: My name should not be linked with March 1 case
“It is regrettable that I was not in Yerevan on March 1, I was an observer in Saint Petersburg. When I learned of the March 1 tragedy, I cut short my mission in Saint Petersburg and returned to Armenia on the morning of March 2,” Raffi Hovannisian said at a press conference in Liberty Square today.
“On my arrival in Yerevan, I immediately visited Armen Martirosian in hospital. He had defended a policeman,” R. Hovannisian noted.
Continuing to comment on the March 1 events, Hovannisian said: “No one should link my name with the ten deaths. Those guilty are in other places, of which the people are unaware until now”.
