A. Baghdasarian and Indian ambassador discuss security cooperation
Secretary of Armenia’s National Security Council Arthur Baghdasarian received today the newly-appointed Indian ambassador to Armenia Suresh Babu, the press service of NSC said.
Arthur Baghdasarian congratulated Mr. Babu on his appointment and wished him success during his diplomatic mission in Armenia.
Appreciating the friendly relationship between Armenia and India, A. Baghdasarian expressed hope that bilateral relations will become even more active. He stressed the importance of their further development.
The NSC secretary spoke about the high level of political and economic cooperation, noting that the friendly relations and the absence of political discords between the two countries as well as their similar positions and views in international organizations contribute to mutually beneficial cooperation of Armenia and India.
Arthur Baghdasarian said his meeting with the Secretary of India’s National Security Council during his visit to India in 2011 and the ongoing dialog gave renewed impetus to Armenian-Indian cooperation in the field of security.
The sides underlined the importance of the further deepening of cooperation between the Security Councils of Armenia and India. A. Baghdasarian attached importance to a return visit of his Indian counterpart to Armenia, during which a memorandum on cooperation will be signed between the two structures.
The Indian ambassador also appreciated the warm relationship of the two countries, stressing that India is ready to promote cooperation.
The interlocutors discussed issues related to deepening cooperation in security, war industry, information technology, etc.
