Tigran Mukuchian: Raffi Hovannisian’s application is unfounded

The application, in which Raffi Hovannisian disputes the election results, is unfounded and has no evidence, Chairman of Armenia’s Central Election Commission Tigran Mukuchian said in his closing speech in the Constitutional Court today. Mukuchian appeared in the court as the defendant.

“I am convinced that the Constitutional Court has not examined such an unfounded application since 1996,” T. Mukuchian said.

In his words, the presidential election was organized in line with the requirements of the law, while the election results correspond to reality.

“The February 25 decision about the recognition of the election results is valid. The applications filed are unfounded,” the CEC chairman said.
