Iskandarian: Raffi Hovannisian received protest votes

“In Armenia, the defeated party always disputes the results of the presidential election, as was the case in 1996, 2003, and 2008. And each tries to dispute the results by using a set of tools at his disposal,” political scientist Alexander Iskandarian told reporters, when discussing the post-election developments in the country.

He said Raffi Hovannisian collected quite a few votes in the last presidential election, but these were the votes of not only his voters, but also those of opposition voters.

“Raffi Hovannisian collected the protest votes. These votes were collected by anti-Serzh, rather than by Raffi,” Alexander Iskandarian noted.

He expressed an opinion that everything will end with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s inauguration on April 9.
