Hovannisian: Tent will be pitched when police chief’s conscience awakes

“It is not my task to speak about setting up a tent here. I did not demand that a tent or awning be set up. It is the responsibility of the police to ensure the security and health of citizens, in this case – my security and health,” the leader of Heritage Party, ex-presidential candidate Raffi Hovannisian said during the open-air press conference in Liberty Square today.

He hailed the citizens who wanted to put up an awning for him today. “The police should have done it, but they didn’t. The tent will not be pitched until the Police Chief Vladimir Gasparian makes a statement about it. When his conscience awakes, he will say that and the tent will be set up,” Hovannisian said.

Heritage Party leader assured those present that he will never allow citizens and police to clash with each other.
