՛՛It is serious step to take Yerevan municipality away from this regime՛՛

“The people’s patience has been exhausted. Everyone understands that serious actions are needed to get rid of this dictatorial regime. If we take the city municipality away from this dictatorial regime, it will be a serious step,” the head of the HAK (Armenian National Congress) faction Levon Zurabian said during a talk with journalists in the National Assembly, when speaking about participation in the upcoming elections to Yerevan Council of Elders. He declined to elaborate on the HAK list.

Zurabian said the society expects more from HAK. He expressed confidence they will manage to overcome the election threshold. “Today the Congress is the most powerful political force in terms of its ideological and human resources,” Zurabian said, underlining that in case of fair elections – be it parliamentary, or presidential elections, or elections to Yerevan Council of Elders – HAK will win.

Speaking about the statement of Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) that political forces should rally round BHK ahead of the elections to Council of Elders, Levon Zurabian said that if the matter concerned a single list of candidates, in that case a political force could insist that it should have more seats, but now the matter concerns equal cooperation so rallying round one axis is out of the question.
