“Secrets will be revealed if Sargsyan and Hovannisian meet”.

The present political situation is difficult and may even become explosive, the leader of the Communist Party of Armenia Ruben Tovmasian stated at the meeting with journalists today.

Speaking about the rallies that Heritage party leader Raffi Hovannisian has been staging in Liberty Square and his hunger strike, R. Tovmasian said he had visited the ex-presidential candidate and inquired about his health. In his words, there are ideological divisions between the Communist Party of Armenia and Heritage Party. Tovmasian then noted that a hunger strike is unbecoming to a presidential candidate.

He expressed concern about Raffi Hovannisian’s remark that Serzh Sargsyan will assume office only over his dead body. “I think Hovannisian a clever man, he never speaks idly,” Tovmasian stressed.

He considered it unlikely that the presidential candidates who, according to official data, took first and second place in the election will meet in Liberty Square because “a number of secrets be revealed”.

The speaker noted that no good will come of the current situation and that the people will eventually suffer. In his words, it is not easy to control demonstrators and at some point people may get out of control.
