Tigran Karapetian: Raffi Hovannisian won presidential election

Raffi Hovannisian won the presidential election and his victory is conditioned by the fact that the authorities’ slogan “Towards secure Armenia” does not correspond to reality, Chairman of People’s Party Tigran Karapetian said at a meeting with reporters today.

“You are aware of my attitude towards Raffi Hovannisian, but I congratulate him,” T. Karapetian stated.

However, he expressed an opinion that Raffi Hovannisian’s struggle will not produce results. “Unfortunately, only a cruel struggle may result in a change of power, but what does a revolution of hellos mean?”

According to T. Karapetian, it is no use meeting with the authorities as such meetings lead to no result.

“These authorities are ready to die for their positions, it is impossible to find a solution with them,” T. Karapetian noted.

When asked to propose his solution, the chairman of People’s Party said that the people should stand by Raffi Hovannisian. “Raffi is waging his struggle. The people should not get tired. They should support him, even though experience shows that such movements die down over time”.
