Bostanjian: One wins power, rather than gets it on a silver platter

The current post-election developments in Armenia will not result in any change of power because one wins power, rather than gets it on a silver platter, the member of Prosperous Armenia party (BHK), former MP Vardan Bostanjian said at a meeting with reporters today.

“The Armenians have difficulty in understanding that in fact, power should be won. It is a difficult process, and retaining power is also difficult. Power will never be handed to you on a platter thanks to lyrical effusions and hunger strikes,” Bostanjian noted.
In his opinion, the current post-election developments may give cause for concern, but nothing more than that because “the current process resembles a poor show”.

“A show is considered good when it has a logical scenario, is well-founded and without vulnerable spots,” the former deputy said.

According to him, as a political force that received about half a million votes, BHK should have promoted serious competition ahead of the elections to Yerevan Council of Elders, but the situation is progressing in a different direction.
