Adibekian: Number of opposition votes is limited
The number of opposition votes is limited so a struggle will be waged for those votes during the elections to Yerevan Council of Elders, the head of Sociometer Center, sociologist Aharon Adibekian said at the meeting with journalists today.
Adibekian discussed the persons who lead the lists of the political forces running in the upcoming elections.
“Republican Party of Armenia made the right decision choosing Taron Margarian as number one on their list because Margarian has quite a good reputation. I consider Prosperous Armenia Party’s decision to make Vartan Oskanian number one on the party list as incorrect: this party is noted for its policy of solving socioeconomic problems, whereas Oskanian has no image of a “problem solver”. They should have chosen, say, Tsarukian. Heritage Party made a wrong decision: Raffi Hovannisian should have taken off his mask “I have been elected President” and led Heritage’s list. Armen Martirosian is unable to lead the way as successfully as Raffi Hovannisian,” the sociologist noted.
Adibekian assessed positively the list of Armenian National Congress, explaining that many people remember and respect Vahagn Khachatrian who is a former Mayor of Yerevan. In Adibekian’s opinion, Orinats Yerkir Party made the right choice: “Armen Yeritsian is often seen against a background of fires being extinguished. More importantly, he is not notorious for bribery”.
As regards the ARF-Dashnaktsutyun, the sociologist said that the party’s name is a brand in itself, but the ARFD leaders do not conform to the image of the mayor.
