CE Secretary General to visit Armenia in April

Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian received today a group of rapporteurs on democracy issues from the Ministers’ Committee of the Council of Europe. The group was composed of Ambassadors of Poland, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Ireland to the CE, the press service of Armenia’s Foreign Ministry reports.

Welcoming the guests, E. Nalbandian said Armenia has been actively involved in activities of the Council of Europe since it joined the organization. In his words, with the assistance of various CE structures, the country has implemented large-scale democratic reforms, the results of which have received the relevant assessments in reports of many international organizations.

The sides discussed issues related with Armenia’s forthcoming presidency of the CE Committee of Ministers. Nalbandian said the Secretary General of the Council of Europe will visit Armenia in April. The priorities of Armenia’s presidency and the program of measures will be finally determined during the visit.
