Raffi Hovannisian presents proposals: new elections and staff changes
At the start of the rally in Liberty Square today, the Heritage Party leader, ex-presidential candidate Raffi Hovannisian said: “Jokes aside, Mr. Sargsyan, count the number of those present here to know if their number amounts to 3,000 or not”.
R. Hovannisian then presented his application-proposal, which he will sign and send to Serzh Sargsyan. He informed the rally participants that he proposes holding snap presidential or snap parliamentary elections as well as amending the Electoral Code this year.
He also proposes dismissing at least five governors, as well as those village heads and mayors who committed electoral fraud during the presidential election. Raffi Hovannisian said such officials should be held accountable.
“The changes are needed in the Prosecutor’s Office, Tax and Customs Services, National Security Service, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Education and Science, Control Chamber, Justice Council, and anti-corruption sphere,” Raffi Hovannisian stated.
The Heritage leader said the package of proposals shall be signed by the two sided prior to the new parliamentary elections.
