Iskandarian: There are no serious prerequisites for unification

It is quite normal that Heritage Party protests the election results: following each election in Armenia, the political force that took second place speaks about vote rigging, Director of Caucasus Institute, political scientist Alexander Iskandarian said during a press conference today.

In his words, Raffi Hovannisian will eventually end his hunger strike – someone will persuade him to do it. The political scientist found it difficult to say whether this person will be a member of Heritage Party or the authorities.

Iskandarian said the inauguration of Serzh Sargsyan will take place, after which Raffi Hovannisian will not be able to influence the situation.

Speaking about opposition forces, the political scientist said the opposition failed to unite ahead of the presidential elections. In his opinion, it will take long to form serious opposition. He added that today there are no serious prerequisites for the opposition’s unification.
