HAK faction submits its draft statement

“Republican Party of Armenia” (HHK) faction on March 25 presented to Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction its proposal about holding a special session of the Armenian parliament and adoption of a statement about the present situation. The draft statement of HHK was also handed to HAK.

The press service of HAK said that the head of HAK faction Levon Zurabian submitted today a draft statement of HAK faction. The draft underlines the need to solve the existing problems by joint efforts, strengthen an atmosphere of political accord and trust in the country.

“The National Assembly of Armenia,

- expressing concern about the tense internal political situation, dangerous social developments and devastating demographic processes,

- realizing that the country’s development and solution of urgent problems is possible only by means of civil solidarity, states the need:

1. to introduce all the amendments proposed by the opposition in recent years into the Electoral Code in order to rule out election violations as much as possible,

2. to hold hearings and discussions with representatives of political forces. The restoration of constitutional order in Armenia by holding snap parliamentary elections, later - snap presidential elections will be included in the agenda of such hearings and discussions.

The National Assembly of Armenia calls upon all political forces, civil structures and society to help create an atmosphere necessary for solution of this important problem”.
