“Actions in Closed Market are vandalism”

“Construction work is underway in Pak Shuka (Closed Market), without any design approved. Designs are required even for one-story buildings, in this case such a design is absent,” Chairman of the Union of Architects Mkrtich Minasian said at a meeting with journalists today.

“What is going on in the grounds of Closed Market is very regrettable. But it is especially regrettable that this is being done by our citizen, who has a parliamentary deputy’s mandate,” M. Minasian said, adding that the union is going to apply to Yerevan Municipality concerning the issue.

Another participant of the press conference, Deputy Chairman of the Union of Architects Alexander Babayan used only one sentence to describe the actions in Closed Market:

“This is vandalism, one should not hate one’s own city so much”.
