Bozoyan: Main struggle will be between Republican Party and BHK

Many political forces are running in the Yerevan municipal elections, which are going to be quite competitive, political scientist Yervand Bozoyan said at the meeting with reporters today.

In his opinion, the main struggle will be between Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) and Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK). As for the Armenian National Congress (HAK), Bozoyan noted that the party is in a difficult position now.

“As regards Heritage Party, I think it will improve notably its positions in the Yerevan Council of Elders, but will receive fewer votes than during the presidential election because more forces have joined the election race,” Yervand Bozoyan said.

Speaking about possible cooperation between Raffi Hovannisian and Serzh Sargsyan, the political scientist said that Hovannisian’s demands are high and the two political figures will not come to an agreement. “Serzh Sargsyan wants to make a compromise, but that compromise should not discredit him,” Bozoyan said.
