President signs decree about government’s resignation
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan has signed a decree about the resignation of the government.
Under the Constitution of Armenia, the government resigns on the day of the inauguration of the Armenian president.
“I am signing the decree about the resignation of the government. The decree takes effect upon signature,” the president stated.
He thanked the ministers for effective cooperation.
“No doubt, a huge part of society is dissatisfied with your work, but you can be sure that they are dissatisfied with the existing problems, rather than with people. You worked in difficult conditions and solved unsolvable problems, which does you credit. Regardless of who will continue your work in the new government, I am convinced that the new executive body will carry on your best traditions and solve the problems facing it, and there are many such problems,” Sargsyan said.
He also asked the government members to continue performing their duties until a new government is formed.
