Arthur Baghdasarian: Armenia-EU relations entered a new stage

The 12th regular meeting of the EU Advisory Group Board was held today. It was co-chaired by Secretary of the National Security Council (NSC) Arthur Baghdasarian and Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Traian Hristea, according to the press service of NSC.

The UNDP Resident Representative, ambassadors of EU countries accredited to Armenia, heads of European organizations, and representatives of Armenian government bodies participated in the meeting.

In his opening speech, Arthur Baghdasarian said:

“Today we will build the vision of the future, rather than sum up the work done. Armenia-EU relations have entered a new stage of development. A roadmap was developed for Armenia-EU cooperation, and government bodies are implementing this roadmap according to schedule. We plan to reach the signing of the Armenia-European Union political association agreement at the Vilnius summit in November.

“We consider it important to organize this year a Donor Conference that will allow providing additional financial and technical assistance to Armenia in order to bring about the changes. 12 new tools will henceforth be available to Armenia. Armenia’s government bodies can establish direct links with some 30 EU agencies, which will help create direct links and mechanisms and receive additional assistance”.
