Zurabian: Age is no obstacle to Levon Ter-Petrosian

The organization, which has been transformed from Armenian National Congress (HAK) bloc into HAK party, proved at its very first congress that it is a powerful and cohesive force that managed to get rid of the fetters restraining it, the deputy chairman of HAK Party, head of HAK faction Levon Zurabian said at the meeting with reporters today.

“The last few months were a period of small crisis for us because the “parties of one person” hindered effective work of the Congress. Secondly, we could no longer accept the fact that numerous parties willing to participate in political processes had no such opportunity. Retaining its essence, the movement has taken a new organizational shape – that of a party. The crisis has been overcome,” Zurabian stated.

When asked whether the activities of those “parties of one person” were the main obstacle to active work of HAK bloc, Levon Zurabian told those present to read the statement issued yesterday, adding: “There were more signatures than people there”.

Asked by reporters if Levon Ter-Petrosian’s age will not prevent him from leading the party, Zurabian replied: “If Levon Ter-Petrosian has agreed to lead HAK Party, it means that age is no obstacle for him”.
