HAK activists clash with police outside Yerevan municipality
Activists of Armenian National Congress (HAK) staged today yet another protest in defense of HAK member Tigran Arakelian outside the Office of Prosecutor General. The protesters then walked towards Yerevan Municipality. They carried placards saying “Free Yerevan” and “We will deprive HHK of Yerevan”.
Among the protesters were HAK members Vladimir Karapetian and Tigran Ter-Petrosian.
The police told protesters not to approach the Municipality’s building. According to police, the activists blocked traffic and disturbed work of the municipality staff. As a result, a clash broke out between the police and protesters.
HAK activist Areg Grigorian attempted to read a statement, but Deputy Chief of the Police Valery Osipian did not allow him to do it.
The protesters, however, stated their demands through a microphone and then went to Liberty Square.
