N. Zohrabian: BHK is open for discussion of Oskanian’s thesis

“Since the latest note of Vartan Oskanian on Facebook, I have received a lot of phone calls. It’s understandable. On the other hand nothing strange took place”. The secretary of Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) faction Ms. Naira Zohrabian expressed this opinion, when discussing the former Foreign Minister of Armenia Vartan Oskanian’s latest ideas on Facebook. Let us remind you that Oskanian leads the BHK list in the May 5 elections to Yerevan Council of Elders.

N. Zohrabian’s statement particularly said:

“I have repeatedly stated that the provision of the National Assembly’s Rules of Procedure about whether a political force is an opposition or non-opposition one is a very artificial term. BHK is not part of the coalition and this fact says everything. After all, it is not recommendations of the Council of Europe or provisions of the NA Rules of Procedure that determine the opposition nature of a party. The activities of that party and its political agenda show this”.

According to N. Zohrabian, there is another aspect as well. “In recent years Armenia’s political field has become so fuzzy and – to tell the truth – so discredited and the notion of “opposition” has become so ambiguous that it should also be specified. Finally, many “opposition” mines and clients were debunked before our eyes, and the process is continuing. In conclusion, I would like to say that BHK is open for discussions and an exchange of views on any issue, including the thesis proposed by Vartan Oskanian”.
