“Today is an important day for Armenia, the Armenians, and France,” French ambassador to Armenia Henri Reynaud told journalists. According to him, events to mark the Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day are held today in Paris, too.

“Armenia and France have had friendly relations, which began in the aftermath of the genocide… it was one of the reasons why France recognized the Armenian Genocide,” the ambassador stated.

The Russian Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Bolynkin said that employees of the embassy came to Tsitsernakaberd Memorial in order to pay tribute to the memory of people “who were killed in a barbaric way by the Turks 100 years ago”.

“Years will pass, but this day will remain in the memory of people. Today we bow our heads in memory of the innocent victims and we will always remember them, passing on this memory to future generations,” the Russian ambassador said.
