Armenian president meets with Vyacheslav Kovalenko

President Serzh Sargsyan received today Russian Ambassador to Armenia Vyacheslav Kovalenko who ends his diplomatic mission in Armenia, the presidential press service reported.

The president thanked Ambassador Kovalenko for his personal contribution to the development of Armenian-Russian strategic relations. In his words, in the past few years Armenia’s relationship with its ally and main economic partner – Russia have been quite effective in terms of strengthening and deepening cooperation in all spheres, which is evident from over fifty meetings and mutual visits at various level in five years, including two state visits, as well as from a number of significant documents signed.

Serzh Sargsyan stressed that Armenia is interested in preserving and deepening these ties for the benefit of the two friendly states and peoples.

Ambassador Kovalenko thanked S. Sargsyan for his warm words and appreciation. He said that he leaves Armenia, taking pride in the fact that his activities have promoted Armenian-Russian relations. He assured the Armenian president that he will remain a friend of the Armenian people and do his best to contribute to the further development of friendly ties between Armenia and Russia.
