Vahram Vardanian: HAK and Prosperous Armenia engaged in black PR

Equal competition conditions have been ensured for all the candidates running in the upcoming elections to Yerevan Council of Elders, the head of Electoral Systems Center NGO Vahram Vardanian said at a meeting with journalists today.

He said that some parties are now engaged in black PR against the authorities, which did not happen during the previous elections.

“It is mostly Armenian National Congress (HAK) and Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) that use black PR. By means of such a policy, these parties are trying to attract the public’s attention in order to receive more votes in the upcoming elections,” he noted.
Vahram Vardanian also discussed the actions of policemen during elections, saying that the police act within legal boundaries, but rather slowly.

“Let’s hope the police will act more rapidly in the elections to the Yerevan Council of Elders,” V. Vardanian said.
