Aram Manukian: In case of joint work we can take power away from HHK

Emigration is the most serious problem facing Armenia now. The current emigration bears no relation to the social situation, but it is caused by hopelessness. The secretary of Armenian National Congress (HAK) parliamentary faction Aram Manukian expressed this opinion at a meeting with reporters today.

In his words, the emigration rates especially grew following the president’s inauguration. “The emigration from the republic has gathered momentum after the presidential election was held. If this process continues, no taxpayers, youths, students, working citizens will remain in Armenia in a few years,” Aram Manukian said, adding that emigration is a priority problem to him.

Speaking about the upcoming elections to Yerevan Council of Elders on May 5, Aram Manukian underlined the importance of the fact that society has overcome the fear of the authorities so voting will not take place in an atmosphere of fear.

“There are four political forces whose joint work will allow taking power in Yerevan away from the Republican Party of Armenia,” Aram Manukian said.
