Armen Yeritsian: OEK ready to cooperate with those who love Yerevan
“We must do everything possible so that Yerevan will become a city in line with international standards and Yerevan residents will take pride in the fact that they live in Yerevan. We should change the mentality of Yerevan residents – they should know that they are the masters of the city. By supporting me, you will have a stronger and more beautiful Yerevan,” Acting Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Yeritsian stated at a press conference today. A. Yeritsian tops the list of candidates of Orinats Yerkir Party (OEK) in the May 5 elections to Yerevan Council of Elders.
Summarizing the results of the election campaign, Armen Yeritsian reiterated the main provisions of OEK’s election program, adding that he has managed to drive his words and the party’s program home to voters.
As for the criticism that the opposition forces leveled at Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) and OEK, A. Yeritsian expressed an opinion that it is the problem of the opposition. “In particular, I can say the following about Orinats Yerkir: we will move forward and Yerevan will become even more beautiful,” he declared.
Commenting on the opposition’s allegations of violations during compilation of voter lists, the candidate for Yerevan mayor said that each statement should be well-founded.
“If such information corresponds to reality, then law enforcers should examine it. In case of noticing such violations, OEK will inform law enforcement agencies about that. All parties should combat offences together,” he said.
When asked who will win the election and what percentage of votes OEK will receive, Armen Yeritsian replied that he assesses his chances as very high. “I cannot give a specific number, but I am running in the elections in order to win, together with you. I expect to receive a great number of votes and I believe that we will win,” Yeritsian stressed.
In response to the question “In case of overcoming the election threshold, what forces is OEK ready to cooperate with and on what conditions?” – taking into account the fact that the opposition forces make statements about the possible formation of a post-election coalition in the Yerevan Council of Elders, Armen Yeritsian said: “I and the party that I represent are ready to cooperate with all those who accept our program, stand by our side, love Yerevan, and ready to improve the city together with us”.
