Naira Zohrabian: Yerevan Council elections are political ones

“The election campaign of BHK has been successful. We conveyed to Yerevan residents our message that Yerevan Council elections are political ones and not elections of garbage collectors,” the secretary of “Prosperous Armenia Party” (BHK) faction Ms. Naira Zohrabian said during the briefing in the National Assembly today.

She expressed confidence that their party will constitute a majority and that a post-election alliance is possible: “In case of free and fair elections, BHK will constitute a majority”.

N. Zohrabian considered as misinformation the circulating rumors that money was distributed to participants of yesterday’s rally of BHK and many of them were transported by bus from other cities.

As regards the possible rigging of the elections, Naira Zohrabian noted that “a band of election falsifiers” will be used. She added that there is no need to give way to despair, but one should struggle.

“We are not naïve and know very well that many things are done prior to the polling day,” Ms. Zohrabian said in conclusion.

Anther deputy of BHK, Stepan Margarian, said that BHK will take first place in the elections to Yerevan Council of Elders and that a struggle will be put up for second place.
