Zurabian: Some members of Heritage cooperated with opposite camp

There was serious cooperation among Armenian National Congress (HAK), ARF-Dashnaktsutyun, and Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) during the elections to Yerevan Council of Elders: they put up a principled struggle. The HAK faction head, deputy chairman of HAK Party Levon Zurabian said this at the meeting with reporters today.

In his words, they struggled for lawfulness at polling stations, whereas Heritage Party ruined that process, often cooperating with the opposite camp. “There are people in Heritage who cooperated with us and struggled, but the majority cooperated with the authorities,” L. Zurabian noted.

As regards BHK, Levon Zurabian said they received information that BHK guided voters, which is “unacceptable to HAK”.

He told reporters that on the eve of the elections, the chief of Armenian police and the deputy chief of Yerevan police Valery Osipian visited him, and on behalf of the authorities they assured him that they wanted to hold legal elections.

“Yet the police failed once again and became an accomplice in crime. The same distribution of bribes and guidance of voters took place... It is an operation involving thousands of people,” L. Zurabian said.
