Former members of HHSh state about party’s revival

Member of Heritage parliamentary faction, former Foreign Minister of Armenia Alexander Arzumanian together with the board chairman of the previously dissolved Pan-Armenian National Movement (HHSh) Ararat Zurabian, ex-deputy of parliament Karapet Rubinian, and Hovhannes Igitian officially stated about their intention to revive HHSh at a press conference today.

“We express disagreement regarding the exclusion of HHSh from the political arena,” Ararat Zurabian said.

In his words, many citizens have already expressed readiness to join the statement. He noted that HHSh will struggle for the restoration of constitutional order and is ready to cooperate with any political force, but cooperation should be ideological and on a concrete issue.

“We will cooperate first of all with those political forces, which share our ideas and hold liberal views,” he stressed.
Hovhannes Igitian added: “It is going to be cooperation and not a deal”.

As regards the revival of HHSh without Levon Ter-Petrosian, H. Igitian said that HHSh was formed not by Levon Ter-Petrosian, but by joint efforts of a group of people.

According to Alexander Arzumanian, there are about 200 people in the initiative group at the moment.

Speaking about Levon Ter-Petrosian’s statement that HHSh has turned into a village club, Arzumanian said he has never been in a village club. “I never visited a village club. You should ask those who go to such places,” he said.

Karapet Rubinian spoke about further actions. In his words, they plan to hold a congress of the party by the fall, update its legal status, and re-establish ties with the public.
